POSITION SUMMARY
GRACE is committed to making disciples of the next generation. The Student Ministry Associates work with the Next Gen Pastor to grow and develop a comprehensive ministry for middle and high school students and their families, leading them to know, grow, and show the grace of Jesus Christ. 

GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS ·     
Develop effective student programs – including large and small group teaching environments, outreach events, community-building, and mission opportunities. Identify and recruit high-capacity leaders. Equip, train, and empower leaders to own a role. Continually encourage, motivate, and care for leaders. Work with the Next Gen team to recognize and celebrate faith milestones. (i.e. the transition to Grace Students, Confirmation, and high school graduation)·Be awesome at communicating and relating to others, especially teens and their parents. Utilize social media, newsletters, and the website to keep everyone informed and to engage people online. 

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS ·     
Strong, demonstrated relationship with Jesus Christ, guided by a commitment to following Biblical principles for life and ministry. A pastoral heart, a love for students, and a gift for challenging students towards growth in Christ. Willing to take initiative and get things done. Be excited by the mission and vision of GRACE Church Bethlehem and of ECO and its essential tenets. Energized by a fast-moving and collaborative environment.
College degree required.

ABOUT GRACE & POSITION SUMMARY
GRACE Church Bethlehem is a church with 150-year-old roots, infused with a pioneering spirit and calling. We recently moved into a new campus in the Lehigh Valley, one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States.  We are seeing God move in powerful ways in this exciting new season. We are an all-generations community of people, living in different neighborhoods, with different stories, that have all been shaped by grace. Together, we invite people to know the grace that Jesus offers. This commitment shapes how we come together on Sunday morning, and how we scatter throughout the Lehigh Valley during the week. Our congregation has a long and continued commitment to excellence in choral music and traditional worship. Our Classic Service is our largest service, which features our 60-voice Chancel Choir. The Classic and Modern Teams work cooperatively to enhance all the worship services and experiences throughout the year. We are seeking a dynamic Director of Classic Worship to lead in our Music and Worship Ministry. The Director will develop the significant musical resources of the congregation, and in collaboration with the staff, plan meaningful worship services that lead people into the presence of God and into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Director will be a part of a gifted team who desire to continue to innovate in worship through music, liturgy, and creative visuals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE  
A master’s degree or its equivalent in church music, accompanying, organ performance, or choral conducting with at least five (5) years of experience.  

ROLES OF THE DIRECTOR
Worship Leader The Director will have a deep, personal faith rooted in a genuine love of God, and a well-articulated philosophy of worship rooted in scripture and reformed teachings focusing on helping people encounter God through worship rather than performing for them.Choir DirectorThe Director will be pastorally invested in the choir, developing and discipling them, inviting them to grow deeper in their faith.Musically, the Director will have precise conducting skills that encourage healthy singing among all singers and will conduct carefully prepared and well-organized rehearsals that will allow singers of all ages and abilities to feel encouraged. Staff ColleagueThe Director will joyfully learn and contribute to our staff culture and ministry, developing strong working relationships and close personal friendships with colleagues. The Director will work closely with the Senior Pastor to creatively plan services with excellence and liturgical cohesion.MusicianThe Director will build relationships with and bless the Lehigh Valley’s musical community creating opportunities to partner with them. The Director will engage special musicians in worship and special events at GRACE. Organist/Accompanist (Desired, not required)If skilled in this area, the Director will accompany choir and lead the congregation in hymn singing. The Director will have expertise in playing a variety of styles from the past 300 years, including hymn leading with variations of voicing and accompaniments, sensitive to the singing of the congregation, yet able to lead them in joyful congregational worship.
